.Sh DESCRIPTION
The
.Fn Mat_VarReadData
function reads a subset of the data for
.Fa matvar
from the MAT file
.Fa mat
into the caller-allocated buffer
.Fa data .
The variable metadata must already have been obtained with
.Fn Mat_VarReadInfo .
The
.Fa start ,
.Fa stride ,
and
.Fa edge
arrays specify the per-dimension selection to read.

This function supports numeric variables.

The function returns 0 on success.
Otherwise, a matio error code is returned.
