NAME¶
ddccontrol-dbgen - generate and inspect the ddccontrol CBOR monitor database
SYNOPSIS¶
ddccontrol-dbgen convert DIRECTORY OUTPUT
[--revision REV] [--snapshot PATH]
ddccontrol-dbgen validate INPUT
ddccontrol-dbgen dump INPUT
ddccontrol-dbgen rewrite INPUT OUTPUT [--snapshot PATH]
ddccontrol-dbgen --version
DESCRIPTION¶
ddccontrol-dbgen is an offline tool that converts the XML monitor database used by ddccontrol(1) into a deterministic CBOR encoding, and validates, dumps, and rewrites such CBOR databases. It performs no monitor I/O.
XML remains the maintained source. Unknown CBOR fields survive rewrite.
COMMANDS¶
- convert
- Read the XML database in DIRECTORY (containing options.xml and monitor/*.xml) and write the CBOR database to OUTPUT. --revision overrides the date taken from options.xml. --snapshot also writes the snapshot sidecar, which must be installed together with the CBOR database. On failure, any existing output and snapshot files are removed.
- validate
- Check that INPUT is a valid CBOR database.
- dump
- Print INPUT as JSON on standard output. CBOR maps are written as {"$map": [[key, value], ...]} and byte strings as {"$bytes":hex}.
- rewrite
- Re-encode INPUT to OUTPUT, preserving unknown fields and extensions.
