DESCRIPTION¶

deye-inverter-mqtt reads Deye solar inverter metrics over Modbus TCP (directly or via a Solarman/Deye logger stick) and publishes them to an MQTT broker. It also supports Home Assistant MQTT discovery and can write configuration registers back to the inverter.

Called with no arguments, it runs as a foreground daemon, continuously polling the configured inverter(s) and publishing readings to MQTT.

Called with a r or w command, it performs a single Modbus register read or write and exits. The optional logger-index (1-based) selects which configured logger to address, when more than one is configured; it defaults to the first logger.

CONFIGURATION¶

Configuration is supplied through environment variables, documented in /etc/deye-inverter-mqtt/config.env. That file is read on every start, both when the command is run from a shell and when it is run through the bundled systemd service, unless DEYE_LOGGER_SERIAL_NUMBER is already set in the environment, in which case the whole configuration is taken from the environment. A config.env in the current directory, if present, is read in preference to the one in /etc. Variables already present in the environment are never overwritten by the file.

Path of the configuration file to read, in preference to ./config.env and /etc/deye-inverter-mqtt/config.env. A missing file is not an error, in which case the configuration is taken from the environment alone.
