NAME¶
dart-sass, sass - Dart implementation of Sass, a CSS extension language
SYNOPSIS¶
dart-sass [options] input.scss
[output.css]
dart-sass [options] input.scss:output.css
[input/:output/]
DESCRIPTION¶
Sass is a stylesheet language that is compiled to CSS. It allows authors to use variables, nested rules, mixins and functions, all with a fully CSS-compatible syntax.
dart-sass is the reference implementation of the language, and the only one still maintained upstream. It is installed under this name and, under the generic name, sass(1).
With no output.css the compiled CSS is written to standard output. When input.scss and output.css are given as a single input:output argument, several pairs may be compiled in one run, and a directory pair compiles every stylesheet inside it.
OPTIONS¶
Input and Output¶
- --stdin, --no-stdin
- Read the stylesheet from standard input.
- --indented, --no-indented
- Use the indented syntax for input from standard input.
- -I path, --load-path=path
- A path to use when resolving imports. May be passed multiple times.
- -p type, --pkg-importer=type
- Built-in importer to use for pkg: URLs; the only value is node, which loads files the way Node.js package resolution does.
- -s name, --style=name
- Output style: expanded (the default) or compressed.
- --charset, --no-charset
- Emit a @charset or BOM for CSS with non-ASCII characters. Defaults to on.
- --error-css, --no-error-css
- When an error occurs, emit a stylesheet describing it. Defaults to on when compiling to a file.
- --update
- Only compile out-of-date stylesheets.
Source Maps¶
- --source-map, --no-source-map
- Whether to generate source maps. Defaults to on.
- --source-map-urls
- How to link from source maps to source files: relative (the default) or absolute.
- --embed-sources, --no-embed-sources
- Embed source file contents in source maps.
- --embed-source-map, --no-embed-source-map
- Embed source map contents in the CSS.
Warnings¶
- -q, --quiet, --no-quiet
- Do not print warnings.
- --quiet-deps, --no-quiet-deps
- Do not print compiler warnings from dependencies. Stylesheets loaded through load paths count as dependencies.
- --verbose, --no-verbose
- Print all deprecation warnings, even when they are repetitive.
- --fatal-deprecation dependency
- Deprecations to treat as errors. A Sass version may also be passed, to include every behaviour deprecated in or before it.
- --silence-deprecation dependency
- Deprecations to ignore.
- --future-deprecation dependency
- Opt in to a deprecation early.
Other¶
- -w, --watch
- Watch stylesheets and recompile them when they change.
- --poll, --no-poll
- Check for changes manually rather than using a native watcher. Only valid together with --watch.
- --stop-on-error, --no-stop-on-error
- Do not compile more files once an error has been encountered.
- -i, --interactive
- Run an interactive SassScript shell.
- -c, --color, --no-color
- Whether to use terminal colours for messages.
- --unicode, --no-unicode
- Whether to use Unicode characters for messages.
- --trace, --no-trace
- Print full Dart stack traces for exceptions.
- -h, --help
- Print usage information.
- --version
- Print the version of Dart Sass.
