DHCPIG-WEB(1) User Commands DHCPIG-WEB(1)

NAME

dhcpig-web - local web user interface for dhcpig

SYNOPSIS

dhcpig-web [options]

DESCRIPTION

dhcpig-web starts a small HTTP server that presents a local web interface to dhcpig(1), providing a dashboard for launching scans and exhaustion runs, watching traffic, and reviewing session reports.

The server is built entirely on the Python standard library. It binds to the loopback interface by default and prints a URL containing a randomly generated session token; that token is required to reach the interface.

Because the underlying tool sends raw frames, dhcpig-web must run as root. The shipped desktop entry launches it through pkexec(1).

OPTIONS

Bind to ADDRESS. Defaults to 127.0.0.1. See SECURITY below before changing this.
Listen on PORT. Defaults to 8787.
Open a browser at the tokenized URL once the server is listening. This is the default.
Do not open a browser automatically; just print the URL.
Show a usage summary and exit.

SECURITY

The web interface is the control plane for a tool that disrupts a local network. Binding it to anything other than a loopback address exposes that control plane to every host that can reach the address, guarded only by the session token. To reach the interface from another machine, forward a local port over SSH instead, for example:

ssh -L 8787:127.0.0.1:8787 host

A warning is printed when a non-loopback bind address is used.

EXIT STATUS

0
The server shut down normally.
