_drogon_ctl create view csp_file ...

DESCRIPTION¶

_drogon_ctl is a reduced build of drogon_ctl(1) used internally while building Drogon itself.

The full drogon_ctl(1) binary embeds C++ classes that are generated from CSP view templates, and generating them requires a working create view implementation. To break that circular dependency, Drogon first builds _drogon_ctl, which is compiled from a small subset of the sources and therefore needs no generated code, then uses it to translate the templates.

It is installed because cross builds cannot execute a binary compiled for the host architecture. In that case Drogon's build system looks for a native _drogon_ctl in PATH, so the tool must be available from an installed package.

Only the create view command is supported. Every other command, including help and version, is unavailable and reports an error. Use drogon_ctl(1) instead.
