NAME¶
udp_daemon - Command-line reference server for the WSJT-X UDP protocol.
SYNOPSIS¶
udp_daemon [OPTIONS]
DESCRIPTION¶
udp_daemon is a command-line reference implementation of a server for the WSJT-X UDP protocol. It discovers WSJT-X clients and prints their status, decodes, WSPR decodes, logged QSOs, and logged ADIF records. Its source also demonstrates how an external application can receive and respond to WSJT-X messages:
https://github.com/WSJTX/wsjtx/tree/master/UDPExamples
The daemon listens as a unicast server by default. To use multicast, specify a valid multicast group with --multicast-group and configure the same group and port in each WSJT-X instance under Settings → Reporting → UDP Server. Multicast permits multiple servers to receive the same WSJT-X messages. MAC-ambiguous IPv4 multicast group addresses are not supported.
Without --network-interface, a multicast server joins the loopback interface. Use --list-interfaces to find interface names and repeat --network-interface to join the group on one or more selected interfaces. Some systems may require a suitable multicast route before traffic can be delivered to sockets on the sending host.
OPTIONS¶
-h, --help
--help-all
-v, --version
-l, --list-interfaces
-p PORT, --port=PORT
-g GROUP, --multicast-group=GROUP
-i INTERFACE, --network-interface=INTERFACE
